After receiving a B.A. from McMurry College in 1957 and an L.L.B. from the University of Texas in 1959, Mr. Reavis practiced in Perryton, Texas until 1966 at which time he relocated his practice to Amarillo.  His areas of practice included oil and gas law, agri business matters, banking and farm and ranch operations, including litigation in these areas.  In 1996, Mr. Reavis was appointed to fill a vacancy on the 7 th Court of Appeals, Amarillo and served there until his retirement in 2006.

Mr. Reavis is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fith Circuit.  After serving as president of the Amarillo Bar Association, he was elected as a director of the State Bar of Texas, 1982-1984.  He is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
